Privacy policy
This version is effective from 1. septembra 2026.
1. Who the controller is
The controller who decides why and how your data is processed is:
- Company name
- Affilkit s. r. o.
- Registered office
- Raková 596, 023 51 Raková, Slovenská republika
- Managing director
- Peter Jašurek
- Company ID
- 55929991
- Tax ID
- 2122136731
- VAT ID
- SK2122136731
- Registration
- Obchodný register Okresného súdu Žilina, oddiel Sro, vložka č. 83864/L
- info@datingmia.com
For data protection matters contact us at info@datingmia.com.
2. What data we process
- Sign-in details — email address and password. The password is stored only as an unreadable hash; we never see it.
- Profile — name, date of birth, town, height, text about yourself, occupation, education, children, smoking, alcohol, languages and interests.
- Photos and the video intro that you upload.
- Approximate location — the coordinates the distance is calculated from. We do not take them from your device or your connection. We take them from the town you enter in your profile yourself, and they are the coordinates of the centre of that town, not of your address. The coordinates are never sent to other people; only a rounded number of kilometres leaves the server.
- Activity in the app — who you liked, who you skipped, favourites, matches and messages.
- Payment data — the state of the subscription and invoices. The card number is processed by Stripe and never reaches us.
- Technical data — IP address, device type and time of access, for security and protection against misuse.
3. Special category data
The information about who you are looking for may say something about your sexual orientation. Under Article 9 of the GDPR this is special category data and we process it only on the basis of your explicit consent, which you give when filling in your profile. Without this information we cannot offer you anyone — it is the core of the service.
You can withdraw your consent at any time by changing your profile or deleting your account. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing before it.
4. Why we process data
- Performance of the contract — so that the service works: account, profile, searching, messages, payments.
- Explicit consent — special category data under clause 3.
- Legitimate interest — security, protection against fraud, fake profiles and misuse of the service.
- Legal obligation — accounting records and cooperation with authorities in justified cases.
5. Automatic checking of photos
An uploaded photo is assessed by artificial intelligence, which decides whether it is published. The photo is sent to Anthropic for that assessment and is used for the assessment only — it is not used to train models.
This is automated decision-making under Article 22 of the GDPR. You therefore have the right to:
- be told why the photo was not published,
- ask for it to be reviewed by a person,
- express your point of view and contest the decision.
Just write to info@datingmia.com. Video intros are always reviewed by a person; no machine decides about them.
6. Who else gets access to the data
We do not sell data. We pass it only to processors who run the service for us and who are bound by a contract:
| Who | What for | Where processed |
|---|---|---|
| Supabase | database, sign-in and storage of photos and videos | European Union |
| Vercel | running the website and the app | European Union and USA |
| Stripe | payment processing and invoicing | European Union and USA |
| Anthropic | automatic checking of uploaded photos | USA |
| Resend | sending emails | European Union and USA |
| Cloudflare | protection, content delivery and checking that registration is filled in by a human | European Union and USA |
For transfers outside the European Union, the standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission apply.
Other users see only what you put in your profile and what passed the check. They do not see your email address, your date of birth (only the calculated age), your exact location or your payment data.
7. How long we keep data
| What | How long |
|---|---|
| Profile, photos and video | while you have an account; within 30 days of deletion |
| Messages and matches | while you have an account; within 30 days of deletion |
| Payment data and invoices | 10 years — required by the Slovak Accounting Act |
| Reports and content decisions | 3 years from closing the case |
| Access and security logs | 90 days |
8. How the data is protected
- The connection to the app is always encrypted.
- Photos and videos are in private storage. The link to them is signed on the server and is valid only briefly — a direct address without a signature does not work, so it cannot be saved and passed on.
- Access to data is guarded by the database at the level of individual rows, not only by the app. Even if someone got to the interface, the database would not hand them other people’s data.
- The date of birth and the coordinates are in a separate table which only the owner can access.
- Passwords are stored as an unreadable hash.
9. Your rights
- Access — to know what data we hold about you and to get a copy of it.
- Rectification — to correct wrong data. Most of it you can correct yourself in your profile.
- Erasure — to delete your account and have the data erased, except for what we have to keep by law.
- Restriction of processing and objection to processing based on legitimate interest.
- Portability — to get your data in a common machine-readable format.
- Withdrawal of consent at any time.
- Human review of an automated decision under clause 5.
Send your request to info@datingmia.com. We reply within 30 days at the latest.
If you think we handle your data wrongly, you can complain to Úrad na ochranu osobných údajov Slovenskej republiky, Hraničná 12, 820 07 Bratislava 27 — https://dataprotection.gov.sk. You can also complain to the supervisory authority in the country where you live.
10. Children
The service is meant exclusively for people over 18. We do not knowingly process children’s data. If we find that an account belongs to someone under 18, we delete it immediately and erase the data.
11. Cookies
Which files DatingMia uses and how to change your consent is on the separate Cookies page.
12. Changes
We may update this version. We will tell you about a material change by email or in the app at least 30 days in advance.
13. Public data used
The list of towns and their coordinates you pick your town from comes from the public GeoNames database and is used under the CC BY 4.0 licence. It is not personal data and we send nothing about you to that database — the list is stored directly in our app.
